Group Blogs

You may have been hearing some internet marketers discussing group blogs. These are simply blogs that are allowing more than one person be an author. It is easy to set group blogs up in Wordpress. Just sign in to the admin section, go to the Users tab, select Authors and Users and add your new user. There are several benefits to a group blog:

* not having to worry about posting new content every day yourself, since other people are doing part of the work.

* not having to do all the site promotion yourself, since other authors will also be promoting the blog.

* the ability to create a one way link to your other sites from the blog.

Blogging Frequency

So, you want to make money with your blog, but you don’t have unlimited time. How often do you have to blog to be effective? Actually, while blogging more often can definitely help increase traffic, it is more important that you stick to your blogging schedule, whether it is once a month or twice a day. Readers become accustomed to reading your blog updates and grow frustrated with a blog that is no longer updated regularly.

Ideally, you should aim for two to three blog posts a week. This is enough content to keep search engines active and not so much that you can’t take a day or so off when life gets in the way.

Blogging for Cash - Can You Really Make Money Blogging?

Filed under: Blogging for Cash — work from home resource @ 4:58 pm

Lately, it seems like everyone is talking about making money with blogging, but you’re not making a dime. It’s some kind of scam, right? Actually, you can easily make money blogging, although you may not make the 6 figure income some bloggers talk about. However, there are some steps you will need to take before you start getting some decent income.

1. Get a blog. (obvious, right?) Although I recommend getting a domain name and hosting of your own, you can use blogger or one of the other free services. Blogger blogs have vanished suddenly because someone decided they were spammy, even if they really weren’t, so at least keep copies of your posts in a word document so you don’t lose everything.

2. Decide on a topic. Diary-like blogs do not earn income, unless you’re keeping a diary of your success in some type of business or hobby. Your baby’s first steps are the most precious steps in the world, but blogging about them just isn’t going to earn you money. Choose something you know a lot about or something you want to learn about for your blog. (By the way, if you must have a diary type blog, the exception may just be a pet’s blog from the pet’s point of view, especially if the pet is having obedience or health problems.)

3. Post regularly to your blog. It does not have to be a daily post, but if you’ve been posting once a month, keep posting once a month.

Once you’ve started your blog, it is time to start trying to bring in some cash. Most internet markers say they are monetizing their blogs when they try to earn money with them. The next post in our Blogging For Cash series will discuss some common ways to monetize blogs.
